Can you imagine having some meat scraps in your refrigerator, but don't know what to do with it quickly so as not to spoil it?

That's what I'm going to talk about today, here in Portugal we have a typical dish that is very good for using up leftover food and more. I am referring to ground beef pie.

You may grind any type of meat that you have available, although I prefer beef, because it is soft and has enough fat to give a very different flavor to our pie!

When we talk about ground beef, I immediately remember some recipes that we can make very easily and quickly, which you must know well, I list some of these recipes below:

INGREDIENTS
  

  • 2 kg of mashed potatoes
  • 500 g minced meat stuffing
  • 2 gems to brush
  • 1 rectangular shape 33cm x 24cm

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
  • Place half of the mashed potatoes in the pan and then place the ground beef filling and cover with the rest of the reserved mashed potatoes, smoothing to be uniform and smooth.
  • Then brush the finished pie with the egg yolks.
  • Place in preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
