In my region this delicious savory is known as Fair Pastel, this is because he is always present when we go shopping for the week at the fair or market in our neighborhood.

Regardless of what pastel is called, there are two components that can make pastel a success or a complete failure!

I am referring to pastry filling fair and also the pastry dough, so in today's recipe we're going to start, which for me is the most important… the stuffing! 

We can make very different fillings for the pastel de Feira, however in today's recipe I will stick to the more traditional filling, which is ground beef.

INGREDIENTS
  

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 onion (small) chopped
  • 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 2 tbsp of chopped parsley
  • 1 Cup of tea) of chopped olives
  • salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • olive oil to taste

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
 

  • Heat a pan and add a generous amount of oil.
  • Then add the crushed garlic and chopped onion to saute.
  • Then add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper to taste, until the meat dries up all the water.
  • As soon as the meat is very loose, add the chopped parsley and the chopped olives, stir well to sauté a little longer.
  • When the filling is very loose, turn off the heat and wait to cool to fill the fair pastries.
