TIP NUMBER 1:

We all know how to cook hard-boiled eggs, right? But the big problem is that it takes a long time for the water to heat up and cook the egg, depending on your stove or hob.

But one thing is certain it will take a really long timeSo if you have a busy life like me, you often end up not cooking the eggs in the pan and later get upset because you wanted a hard-boiled egg to accompany a meal.

I've had this feeling so many times that I've been looking everywhere for ways to cook an egg in a practical and healthy way, but in much less time.

After a lot of research and testing, I discovered a really cool way to cook eggs in the microwave in less than 3 minutes, it really is true 3 minutes!

In the recipe below, I'll show you how to cook eggs in the microwave in a very simple and healthy way:

  • Eggs
  • 1 glass container filled with water
  • Microwave (of course!)

Method of preparation:

Step 1: Before putting the egg in the microwave, you should first make two very small holes in the egg so that it doesn't break while it's in the microwave.

Step 2: Then place the egg in the container of water so that the egg is submerged.

Extra Tip: If the egg doesn't stay submerged, but floats (on the surface of the water), it means that the egg is spoiled.

Step 3: Then place the container in the microwave at maximum power, in the case of my microwave, the maximum power is 800w , and set the timer to 3 minutes.

Extra Tip: If the microwave has a different power, set the timer proportionally, for example if the maximum power is 400w, then you should set the timer for 6 minutes, since it has half the power, and so on.

Step 4: When the microwave has finished, open the door and remove the container with gloves or a cloth, be careful as it is very hot.

Step 5: Place the container on a table or worktop and remove the egg with a large spoon so you don't burn yourself.

Step 6: Then rinse the egg so that it cools down and remove the shell.

Once you've removed the shell, your hard-boiled egg is ready to eat!

TIP NUMBER 2

The second tip has been very successful, perhaps more so than the first tip. Here in Portugal, people love to eat ovos estrelados (fried eggs in a frying pan, filled with oil).

Eggs are widely used in some meals, such as bitoque, which is a steak of beef or pork (usually beef) accompanied by French fries and salad, but something that is essential is to have a fried egg on top of the steak.

So this tip is about how to make a fried egg like we see in the image of the bitoque, but without being friedIn other words, we just use the microwave without adding anything to the egg.

That's why this way of cooking eggs is very healthy, because we don't fry them or use frying oil.

To cook the egg in this way, we will need:

  • Eggs
  • 2 ceramic or glass dishes
  • pinch of salt

Method of preparation:

Step 1: Carefully crack the egg and place it on the plate, just as you would in the frying pan.

Step 2: Adding salt to the egg to taste is optional, as those who don't like salt in their eggs should do as they like.

Step 3: Take the second plate, turn it upside down and place it on top of the other plate, so that the egg is sealed between the two plates.

Step 4: Place the egg dishes in the microwave, set the power to maximum (in my case 800w) and set the timer to 45 seconds.

Step 5: When the microwave is finished, carefully remove the plate as it will be very hot.

Step 6: Take the plate to a counter or table, then remove the plate from above and place the fried egg on the plate where you will be eating your meal.
